The UAE's death toll now stands at 52
The UAE has detected 483 new cases of coronavirus on Wednesday, bringing the country’s total to 8,238 cases, the Ministry of Health and Prevention has announced.
The new detections came after 31,807 tests were conducted in a 24-hour period.
Additionally, 6 more fatalities were confirmed, according to Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) spokesperson Dr. Farida Al Hosani. The UAE’s death toll now stands at 52.
Earlier in the day, the UAE’s state-run WAM news agency reported that three additional Covid-19 field hospitals are being set up in Emirates Humanitarian City, the Abu Dhabi Exhibition Centre and at Dubai Parks and Resorts.
Globally, there have been more than 2.5 million confirmed cases of coronavirus, including nearly 180,000 deaths as of Wednesday night.
Around 705,000 people have recovered from the virus.
