Kuwait announces 300 new Covid-19 cases, one death

Kuwait has detected 300 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of infections in the Gulf country to 3,740, local authorities said on Wednesday.  

According to the state-run Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), one person has also died as a result of the virus. The country’s death toll now stands at 24.

Health Ministry spokesperson Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad, there are now 2,327 patients being cared for in Kuwaiti hospitals. Of these, 66 are in intensive care, of whom 28 percent remain in critical condition.

Earlier in the day, Kuwaiti authorities said that the number of recoveries now stands at 1,389.

Globally, there have been over 3.16 million confirmed cases of Covid-19, including over 219,000 deaths. Over 974,000 people have recovered from the virus.
