Kuwait announces 284 new coronavirus cases, two deaths

Kuwait has detected another 284 cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, bringing the country’s total to 4,024, authorities said on Thursday.

Additionally, Kuwaiti health authorities reported two additional deaths. The country’s death toll now stands at 26.

In a daily briefing, Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad, Kuwait’s Health Ministry spokesman, said that 2,459 Covid-19 patients are now hospitalised in local facilities, 66 of whom are in intensive care.

Of the patients in intensive care, 30 remain in critical condition.

Globally, there have been more than 3.2 million confirmed cases of coronavirus, including over 229,000 deaths. More than 1 million people have recovered from the disease.
