Dubai Economy: 1,342 outlets fully compliant with market opening guidelines, no closures

Of thousands of businesses inspects by the Commercial Compliance and Consumer Protection (CCCP) sector in Dubai Economy, fewer than 40 were found to be in violation of social distancing guidelines designed to combat the spread of Covid-19.

In a statement issued by the authorities on Wednesday, inspectors found that 1,342 businesses were compliant, while 19 were warned for not displaying social distancing stickers.

During further inspections of high-street shops, 908 were found to have fully complied with the precautionary guidelines, and only three warnings were issued.

Additionally, nine shopping malls were also inspected, in which 16 outlets were warned for not displaying social distancing stickers. A further 434 outlets were found to be fully compliant.

Dubai Economy has repeatedly warned traders to comply with Covid-19 precautionary measures such as ensuring that customers and staff wear masks and that outlets be closed during the hours of the National Disinfection Programme.

Consumers can report any incidents of non-compliance to the guidelines via Dubai Economy’s app, website or hotline at 600545555.
