Covid-19: Oman announces 298 new cases

Omani health authorities have detected 298 new cases of Covid-19 in the country, bringing the country’s total number of cases to 4,019.

Oman’s death toll stands at 178.

According to Omani authorities, there have been 1,289 recoveries recorded in the sultanate.

Earlier in the week, Oman’s Ministry of Manpower urged the country’s private sector to ask employees to get tested for Covid-19.

Additionally, the Ministry also called on businesses and employees not to hide suspected cases of coronavirus, and warned that it would take legal action against anyone who violates government orders.

Globally, there have been more than 4.35 million confirmed cases of Covid-19, including 293,235 deaths. More than 1.61 million people have recovered from the disease.
