Dubai Government offices to return to 100% staffing levels next month

Sheikh Hamdan has praised the work done to ensure the continuity of services throughout the time when staff were forced to work from home.

Government offices in Dubai will be 100 percent fully staffed by the middle of next month.

The latest relaxation of lockdown measures was announced on Twitter by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and chairman of the Executive Council.

He revealed that government offices can operate up to 50 percent capacity in terms of staffing numbers from Sunday, May 31, with this increasing to 100 percent from June 14.

The social media posting said: “Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, we adopted today a decision to resume the work of employees in government headquarters in Dubai by 50 percent from Sunday, May 31, to 100 percent from June 14, 2020, in the framework of the gradual restoration of normal life in the framework of intensive preventive measures.”

Sheikh Hamdan also praised the work done to ensure the continuity of services throughout the time when staff were forced to work from home as a result of the Covid-19 precautionary measures.

He said: “In the past months, the Dubai gov’t has proven its full capability to work remotely, within smart environments that rely on highly efficient technologies & infrastructure. None of the vital services were affected despite the precautionary measures & movement restrictions imposed.”

In a further tweet he hailed the previous investment in digital technologies and said the emirate has reaped the rewards as a result.

“It is reassuring to know we’re heading in the right direction,” he said. “Now, we’re encouraged to redouble efforts, to accelerate our digital transformation for Dubai to become a model smart city, forever exceeding expectations.”
