World in 'uncharted territory', says UAE's US ambassador

The UAE and other parts of the globe face ‘uncharted territory’ as it governments work to re-open its economies and combat the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, according to the UAE’s ambassador to the United States, Yousef Al Otaiba.

The remarks came during the first of a new podcast series hosted by ambassador Al Otaiba.

In the first episode, AL Otaiba was joined on the podcast by Dr. Tom Mihaljevic, the chief executive of Cleveland Clinic, as well as with Children National Hospital’s CEO, Dr. Kurt Newman.

In his remarks. Al Otaiba said “it is fair to say we are all in completely uncharted territory.”

“We do not know if there is a standard approach to this virus that should be adopted or if countries should choose what best suits their society,” he added. “The challenge is learning how to navigate this and when to turn the economy back on.”

The new podcast – entitle Podbridge – will cover emerging issues and ideas of shared interest in the US, Middle East and around the world.

Guest speakers will be drawn from a number of areas, including science, technology, health and the environment.
