Covid-19: Saudi Arabia announces 2,994 new cases, 30 deaths

Health officials in Saudi Arabia have recorded 2,994 new cases of Covid-19, authorities announced on Saturday.

In a daily briefing on the pandemic, officials said that the new cases bring the kingdom’s total to 229,480.

Additionally, 30 deaths were reported. Saudi Arabia’s Covid-19 death toll now stands at 2,181.

Recoveries in the kingdom now total 165,396, after 2,370 more people were reported to have recovered from the virus.

Of the new cases, Ministry officials said that 285 were reported in Riyadh, 226 in al-Hofuf, 221 in Jeddah, 211 in al-Dammam, 152 in Taif, 88 in Makkah and 77 in Madinah.

Globally, there have been 12.84 million confirmed cases of Covid-19, including more than 567,700 deaths and 7.48 million recoveries.
