Ajman’s Department of Tourism Development has officially adopted a new name, the Ajman Department of Tourism, Culture and Media, following its merger with the Ajman Culture and Media Department.

The change, formalised under Law No. (2) of 2025, was announced on Monday (3 November 2025) and reflects the emirate’s drive to strengthen integration between three key sectors to support sustainable growth.

The new structure was approved by His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, and guided by the directives of His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council.

The merger aims to enhance coordination, performance and operational efficiency across tourism, culture and media, aligning with Ajman’s strategic development goals.

Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the newly formed department, said the move reflects Ajman’s ambition to build an integrated model of governance rooted in innovation and sustainability.

“The adoption of the new official name embodies the vision of unifying the tourism, culture and media sectors,” he said. “This step goes beyond institutional reform to reinforce Ajman’s position as a cultural and creative centre contributing to a prosperous future.”

Mahmood Khaleel Alhashmi, Director General of the department, described the merger as a milestone in enhancing efficiency and fostering collaboration across sectors. “The new name marks a new chapter for Ajman’s integrated government operations. It highlights our commitment to combining cultural creativity, tourism growth and media influence to drive progress and strengthen the emirate’s economy,” he said.

The unified department will oversee regulatory and legislative frameworks governing tourism, culture and media in Ajman, ensuring closer alignment with the emirate’s economic and social development goals.

It will also focus on enhancing Ajman’s global profile as a destination that blends natural beauty, heritage and cultural innovation, while promoting digital transformation and supporting local talent.

Officials said the merger reinforces Ajman’s commitment to innovation, sustainability and service excellence, contributing to the emirate’s long-term strategy under Ajman Vision 2030, which aims to improve quality of life and ensure sustainable growth across all sectors.
