Emaar pushes for Emiratisation

Local developer Emaar focuses on Emiratisation at the Careers UAE 2007 Exhibition.

Local developer Emaar focuses on Emiratisation at the Careers UAE 2007 Exhibition, being held from March 13 to 15 at the Dubai International Convention Centre.

Emaar will showcase its Afaq initiative – a programme to identify and develop national talent within the company.

Mariam Al Shamsi, Manager, Recruitment and National Development, Emaar Properties, said, “We have structured Afaq into four parts – Management Associate Programme, Leadership Programme, UAE Experienced Professionals and the Employer of Choice programme. This strategy gives continuity to the overall career growth plan of our employees, helping them to reach managerial positions within Emaar in the UAE and internationally.”

Emaar has a presence in 15 countries internationally, with several young UAE nationals heading the country operations. “Through our participation at Careers UAE, we are also reaching out to the experienced UAE professionals who are looking at challenging job opportunities that will give them international exposure, “said Ahmed Ali, Executive Director, HR & Organisation Effectiveness, Emaar Properties, “With these initiatives, we want to benchmark Emaar as the employer of choice.”

He added “This year, we have our biggest presence at Careers UAE, and we have a larger team of Emaar’s senior management professionals to interact with the visitors.”

Emaar’s pavilion at Careers UAE 2007 will give visitors an overview of the company’s human resources policy, the job opportunities for UAE nationals and career development plans. There will be provision for on-line application for key jobs.

Emaar has been in the forefront of the country’s Emiratisation drive and is a founding member of the Emirates National Development Programme.
