Qatar’s prime minister has ordered the establishment of new processes to speed up the allocation of housing to citizens.

PM and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani on Saturday issued a directive for all citizen housing applications to be processed and completed.

He asked officials to find a “clear and quick” mechanism to help citizens find new housing in a speedy manner, for example through the provision of loans or new housing units, according to state news agency QNA.

He also asked officials to establish a new location, or office, where citizens seeking such housing services could go to lodge their enquiries.

According to QNA, Sheikh Abdullah also called for a plan to appoint Qatari citizens in jobs occupied by foreigners, subject to Qatari nationals’ fulfillment of requirements.

This came during a field visit made by the Prime Minister to the Ministry of Administrative Development Labor & Social Affairs to get an update on the latest developments there.
