Putin also praised Sheikh Mohamed’s efforts in bolstering relations between the two countries and advancing them to the level of a strategic partnership.
The economic relationship between Russia and the UAE experienced remarkable growth in recent years. Trade volume between the two nations reached approximately $9.5 billion in 2023, with projections suggesting it could hit the $10 billion mark by the end of 2024.
This upward trajectory is further emphasised by the fact that trade has tripled over the past three years, demonstrating the rapidly strengthening economic ties.
Russia’s primary exports to the UAE include gold and broadcasting equipment, reflecting a diverse range of goods exchanged.
The economic cooperation between the two nations spans various sectors, including energy, agriculture, and technology.
The UAE President’s visit comes ahead of the BRICS summit in Kazan, Russia which will be held from Tuesday to Thursday this week.
The Gulf country officially joined the BRICS bloc earlier this year along with Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Ethiopia and Iran.
