The World Halal Expo 2007 post show report stated an increase in visitor attendance and trade over the 2006 event.
The Expo staged in Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre from 9-11 December 2007 received a total visitor attendance of 1652 over three days, which was a substantial increase in visitor traffic over 2006, said a spokesperson for the Expo.
92% of visitors to the event said it was a productive use of their time while 74% of visitors made new business contacts, according to report statistics.
The show proved to be a successful forum for industry leaders to get up-to-date market trends and forge new business relations in the Middle East.
"I came looking for a partner, I am 20% through with my visit and I already have potential partnership from Malaysia," said Romanian Expo visitor, Christian Harnau.
The event was also a platform to discuss global issues facing the industry and 86% of exhibitors agreed that the event was an important part of their marketing strategy.
"The Expo was very professionally organized. There are huge opportunities for South Africa within this industry and Halal World Expo was a fantastic platform to enter the Middle East Halal market," said Ismail Rawat, marketing director, South African Halal Marketing Consultants.
"We are excited to participate in a bigger Halal World Expo next year," he added. For all the latest travel news from the UAE and Gulf countries, follow us on Twitter and Linkedin, like us on Facebook and subscribe to our YouTube page, which is updated daily.
