Al Jasmi is blessed with a uniquely tender voice that began to charm audiences on UAE television from the age of seven. In 2007, the singer was honoured by King Hamad Al Khalifa, the ruler of Bahrain after performing a particularly patriotic song about the country.
Al Jasmi is also a poster boy for the slimming community, having shed an impressive 60kg.
Although this hasn’t been the greatest year for the world’s banking sector worldwide, Mashreq is still believed to be worth some $8bn.
