Statement comes as work on the hotel group's first Middle East property gets underway.
Work has begun on the first Premier Travel Inn (PTI) in the Middle East, as the hotel group plans what it calls 'aggressive' expansion in the region.
The 308-room property at Dubai Investment Park is a joint venture between Emirates Group and UK-based hospitality company Whitbread Plc, and is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of next year.
PTI Gulf Hotels managing director Darroch Crawford said the company was progressing with its "aggressive" plan to introduce 830 rooms to the market in the next 18 months.
"In addition to Dubai Investment Park we have also secured sites in Garhoud close to Dubai airport and in the Dubai Silicon Oasis," he said.
"Tenders for PTI's new developments are currently in progress."
Emirates business development senior vice president Derek San said there was a "huge and growing market" for budget hotel accommodation in the GCC.
"Premier Travel Inn has an excellent track record in providing a great value-for-money hospitality product, and we are confident that PTI Gulf Hotels are well positioned to service this demand," he said.
"Over the next five years, we plan to develop eight to nine properties in Dubai and launch some 5000 rooms throughout the GCC."
Room rates are expected for the properties are expected to be around AED 400 (US $111).
