HP has introduced its new Compaq Presario V5233EA notebook computer, which is aimed at the region’s mobile professionals.

“HP is re-introducing the Presario in the Middle East to meet consumer demand for a notebook that offers high quality and performance at a very affordable price,” stated Anil Gandhi, general manager of HP Middle East’s personal systems group.

The new 2.98kg Presario ships with Windows XP Home Edition and an Intel Core Duo dual-core processor. It also features a 15.4-inch widescreen display and the HP’s own BrightView technology, which is designed to improve overall picture quality.

On the storage front, the V5233EA offers a 100Gbyte hard disk, which includes an 8Gbyte partition devoted to system recovery. The notebook also sports a 6-in-1-memory card reader, Sonic MyDVD software for burning music and photos, and Symantec’s Norton Internet Security 2006 package.

The Presario is sold with a standard one-year warranty, which can be extended up to three years, and is available in stores now from US $953.
