Global investors eye property deals at Dubai's Cityscape

Regional investors alone are estimated to have spent $15bn on global real estate in the last year

Global investors eye property deals at Dubai's Cityscape
A number of prime developers are expected to reveal their latest residential developments to investors and prospective buyers at the event.

Investors from around the world will descend on Dubai's World Trade Centre for Cityscape from today (Wednesday) to eye the Middle East real estate opportunities on offer.

Cityscape, now in its 19th edition, is the region's largest real estate event and lasts for three days.

"The invited investors from Europe, Asia and the United States will be looking to source new avenues of growth in the UAE and the region will have access to a global pool of local, regional and international exhibitors to diversify their portfolio projects in an uninterrupted environment," said Chris Speller, Group Director at Cityscape.

Speller added that regional investors alone are estimated to have spent $15 billion on global real estate during the last year amid growing demand, "giving way to a more confident and mature investor".

"The United Kingdom, Europe, the United States, and the Middle East region remain firm favourites for outbound residential and commercial investments, leading many to source these investments directly at Cityscape Global," he added.

A number of prime developers are expected to reveal their latest residential developments to investors and prospective buyers at the event.

Additionally, a free-to-attend content programme will offer insights into various real estate classes, including hospitality and industrial assets.

Live design review

For the first time this year, Cityscape Intelligence will host "Cityscape Charettes powered by RIBA", in which a group of architects, designed and Dubai Land Department representatives will present problem-solving schemes and take part in a 'live design review'.

Meanwhile, 56 finalists from 12 nations across South America, Africa, the Middle East, Sub-continent and Asia will find out on Wednesday night if they have won the much-anticipated "Cityscape Awards For Emerging Markets", which recognises 12 distinct real estate development and architecture aspects.

Among the UAE-based companies participating in the event are Azizi Developments, Arada, District 2020, JLL, Nakheel, RAK Properties and Sobha.
