Dubai's Town Square to feature co-living, co-working concept

Developer Nshama unveils plan for social hub featuring work stations, music room, reading space, and creative zones

Dubai's Town Square to feature co-living, co-working concept

Town Square, the Dubai mega project being developed by Nshama, has introduced a new co-living and co-working concept in what it describes as a first for the emirate.

The development has launched UNA, a destination that features a digitised all-purpose lobby lounge where residents can indulge in a wide range of creative, recreational and collaborative pursuits.

At around 2,000 sq m, the lobby lounge is envisaged to be the social hub featuring work stations, a music room, games corner, communal smart TV, reading space, and creative zones.

UNA also serves as a licenced co-working space, meeting the aspirations of today’s generation, Nshama said in a statement.

UNA features a limited collection of only studios and one-bedroom apartments – perfect for the upwardly mobile singles and small families.

Amenities include welcome lobbies, wi-fi, reading area, meeting rooms, entertainment & recreation areas, business centre, swimming pool, gymnasium, retail stores, restaurants, cafes, a supermarket, laundry & cleaning services, landscaped areas, and outdoor recreational facilities.

Fred Durie, CEO of Nshama, said: “The home and work aspirations of the new generation have changed. They seek social destinations that add to their quality of living with none of the fuss associated with traditional ‘apartment-living.’

"As a co-living and co-working destination, UNA is an idea that has come of age, one that is created exclusively for the new generation. This is a perfect fit to the start-up, digital-savvy youth of our times. They value privacy and individuality yet cherish the joy of social collaboration: UNA is for them."

The first residents are set to move into the Town Square project next year.

Town Square is anchored by a central square that is the size of 16 football fields and will include the Vida Town Square Dubai hotel and a Reel Cinemas cineplex and open-air cinema.

Residents will also have access of a 2.5 million sq ft retail precinct featuring more than 600 stores and F&B outlets, green trails, outdoors sports courts and cycling tracks.
