The inaugural Arabian Property Middle East Awards 2008 were a resounding success. Our evening of industry recognition saw over 21 companies and 300 of the region's most innovative leaders across the world of real estate all under one roof.Property tycoon Donald Trump, was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Mr Trump surprised our guests with a special thank you message sent via video link from New York.

Our awards were held in recognition of the success of both companies and individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the Middle East's booming property market.

So, what exactly makes one company or person stand out from another? I have been fortunate enough to meet many of the people involved in numerous, iconic developments in all areas of the real estate market right across the Middle East. And there are some special qualities that all the winners of our awards have in common.

Each has a huge capacity for creativity and innovation, for taking a new concept and pushing the boundaries to a level that has not been seen or done before. Overall, our winners are passionate about what they do. They take pride in their work, their goals, and aim to achieve high standards of excellence that outshine competitors around the globe. They deserve to win.

We look forward to another fabulous awards evening next year. By which time no doubt, choosing the winners from the many great developers in the region, will be even tougher.
