Q-Tel set for shake up

Qatar Telecom (Q-Tel) is embarking on an ambitious restructuring programme in an attempt to transform the company into one of the region’s leading telecoms operators.

Qatar Telecom (Q-Tel) is embarking on an ambitious restructuring programme in an attempt to transform the company into one of the region’s leading telecoms operators.The company’s new organisational structure will take effect from March 2003, and comes as part of the operator’s ambitions to play a major role in the development of the country.Q-Tel also plans to focus on the development of its employees, with major training schemes being implemented over the next five years.Chairman Sheikh Abdullah bin Saud bin Mohammad Al Thani said: “We will only be truly proud of Q-Tel if we know that our work is important to Qatar, and we each do it well.”
