Doha airline says new service will encourage people of Doha and Dubai to visit each other’s city
Qatar Airways has announced the launch of special weekend getaway flights to make it easier for people of Doha and Dubai to visit each other’s city.
The flights, which started this week, are timed to make the most of the weekend, with a Thursday afternoon departure from Doha at 3:50pm, arriving at Dubai International Airport at 6pm local time, and the Dubai flight leaving at 7pm, arriving in Doha at 7.10pm local time.
For the Saturday return, weekend revellers can depart Doha at 2:50pm and arrive in Dubai at 5pm, or leave Dubai at 6pm and arrive in Doha at 6:10pm local time.
The special weekend flights are in addition to Qatar Airways’ 19 other daily flights serving Dubai International Airport and Dubai World Central, the Doha airline said in a statement.
Ehab Amin, Qatar Airways senior vice president Commercial Middle East, Africa & Pakistan, said: “Qatar Airways has designed a flight schedule with the passengers’ needs in mind, offering flight times to and from Dubai that suit their needs.
"In addition, we know how important weekend getaways are for people living in Doha and Dubai, so added a special flight just for their convenience. This additional flight also makes connections to destinations beyond Doha easier for people in Dubai, travelling to the Indian sub-continent and Far East.
“This additional frequency comes after launching Qatar Airways’ new Dubai Premium Lounge earlier this year, which will enrich the experience of our passengers and is proof of the airline’s commitment to the local market and valued UAE customers.”
Qatar Airways currently offers 15 daily flights to Dubai International Airport, and four daily flights to Dubai World Central.
Qatar Airways launched the new Dubai Premium Lounge during the official opening of Dubai International Airport’s Concourse D earlier this year.
