Female business owners gathered in Qatar for the 2013 edition of the International Business Women Forum.

Organised by the Qatari Business Women’s Association (QBWA) and Interactive Business Network, the two-day event in Doha welcomed delegates from 39 countries who took part in workshops, listened to keynote speeches and engaged in lively discussions about a variety of business topics.

Issues concerning small and medium sized businesses, as well as entrepreneurship, were high on many people’s agenda, with topics including business incubators, financing for SMEs, and staff motivation all being tackled.

QBWA vice chairwoman, Aisha Alfardan, said: “What has become clear is that, regardless of where you are from, women globally are facing the same issues – achieving success in the workplace, battling male-dominated environments and stereotypes, balancing work and home commitments and finding the right support to achieve professional success.

“We have achieved much through this year’s forum but we will continue to strive for women’s advancement in business throughout the world.”
