A fire at an onshore drilling rig of Qatar's Gulf International Services (GISS) injured six people, the company said on Monday.

The blaze, which broke out while the rig was being prepared for a move to another location, has been extinguished, while the rig was repaired and put into service again, GISS said in a brief statement.

It did not give a reason for the fire or the financial cost.
