PSG owner Qatar Sports Investments reportedly in talks with Cagliari owner Massimo Cellino
The owner of Italian football club Cagliari is reportedly in talks with Qatar Sports Investments over a proposed takeover of the club.
Massimo Cellino is said to be in discussions with the Qatari owners of French giants Paris St Germain over a deal worth up to €80m ($108m), Italian media reported.
The Sardinian side have been in some trouble with issues over stadium ownership, upkeep and other financial constraints while owner Massimo Cellino is also chasing control of English Championship side Leeds United.
L’Unione Sarda reported that talks are ongoing between Cellino and Qatar Sport Investments.
It said that negotiations are ongoing for a buyout of a majority of Cellino’s share of Cagliari.
Cellino has been the owner of Cagliari since June 1992, a total of 22 years.
