Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP) has opened
registration for the fourth cycle of its business incubation, training and
QSTP Accelerator, QSTP’s three-month-long business
incubation programme, will be accepting applications from innovators and
entrepreneurs who reside in Qatar until 15 May.
The fourth cycle of the programme is set to commence
in September 2016.
The aim of QSTP Accelerator is to help budding
entrepreneurs in Qatar transform their ideas into viable commercial ventures,
addressing trending needs in the local and international markets.
Speaking about the programme, Hamad Al Kuwari, QSTP’s
managing director, said: “‘QSTP Accelerator’ addresses an increasing demand for
innovative technology-based entrepreneurship ventures in Qatar and the wider
region. The commercialisation of technology-based innovations is a strategic
focus for QSTP, addressing the needs of the local and international markets in
one of many areas, including energy, environment, health sciences, and
information and communication technologies.
Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP) is a
Doha-based incubator for technology development established as part of the
Qatar Foundation Research and Development (QF R&D). It focuses on four
themes - energy, environment, health sciences and information and communication
QSTO Accelerator has already facilitated a number of
innovative projects, such as MaktApp, a project led by a Qatari entrepreneur,
Saleh Al Mansoori, which offers a portfolio of cloud services as an all-in-one
business solution for SMEs.
Interested applicants should submit their applications
through QSTP’s website. Shortlisted applicants will be invited for a series of
interviews, which will include delivering a five-minute presentation.
