Qtel mobile users get Google Search

Popular search engine is now available through the Mozaic MOB portal

The Google search engine will now be available to mobile phone users in Qatar through the Mozaic MOB portal from Qtel.

Qtel’s Mozaic MOB portal provides users with access to the most advanced digital content anywhere in the world and has already indexed over 1 trillion unique pages in July 2008.

Users can access Google directly from the Mozaic MOB service homepage free of charge, but will pay standard roaming rates once in the Google search portal.

“We are delighted to reach this agreement with Google, and so bring one of the biggest names on the internet to the Mozaic MOB portal. Users will benefit enormously from direct access to the Google search engine, and we’re confident it will be a hugely popular offering,” said Adel Al Mutawa, Executive Director of Group Communications, Qtel, said:

This agreement is another step forward for Google in the Middle East after the company added a range of services specifically for the region.

25,000 searches have already taken place using Mozaic MOB since the announcement.
