The UK’s Queen
Elizabeth II will pay a four-day visit to Oman starting on November 25, according
to a statement by the Diwan of the Royal
Court.

The
official state visit, which follows one to the UAE capital Abu Dhabi this week, will “foster the
historic friendship” between the two nations, the statement said.

The British
monarch will be greeted on arrival by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said.

“The visit
comes as a bid to enhance the good cooperation march between the Sultanate and
the United Kingdom
and out of the keenness of the two countries to support this march to achieve
more aspirations for the two friendly Omani and British peoples in different
fields,” said the statement, reported by the Oman News Agency.

During the
visit, the Queen will be accompanied by an official delegation including Philip
Duke of Edinburgh, William Hague, UK Foreign Secretary, Dr Noel Jokian, the
British ambassador to the Sultanate and a number of senior British officials.
