Rain hits parts of UAE during Middle East heatwave

Rain fell in parts of the UAE as most of the Middle East was suffering through a heatwave.

Wet weather hit Al Ain before giving way to wind and dust storms on Monday, it was reported.

The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) tweeted a video of heavy rain falling near Jebel Hafeet.

Rainfall was also reported in the industrial areas of Al Muagai, Haily and Manasair in addition to Qatara, Mazyad, Al Mubazara, Al Dhahir and Massa areas near Al Ain, reported Emirates 24/7.

Hot, hazy weather kicked up dust and sand across the UAE on Sunday and Monday, said the report.

In comes just days after temperatures in Kuwait rose to a reported 55C.
