RAK, Dubai Waldorf hotels picked for supercar offer

Waldorf Astoria Ras al Khaimah and Waldorf Astoria Palm Jumeirah have been selected to be two of 12 properties worldwide to take part in the Waldorf Astoria Driving Experiences programme.

Under the Instruction of professional drivers, guests will be invited to experience four world-class cars, including the Ferrari 458 Italia, McLaren MP4-12C, Lamborghini Huracan, and Porsche GT3.

John T.A. Vanderslice, global head, Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts said: "Expanding the Waldorf Astoria Driving Experiences in 2015 is a great next step in bringing truly unforgettable moments to travelers all around the world.

"Car lovers will relish the opportunity to drive these cars the way they were meant to be driven - on the open road and in the most stunning locales around the world."

Belgian racing driver and former Formula One driver Eric Van De Poele will be the driving director for the UAE hotels, while Europe will have Belgian racer Vanina Ickx and Didier Theys returns as the Americas' driving director.

"Waldorf Astoria has curated some of the most powerful automobiles from the most storied luxury performance brands on the market today," said Theys.

"With a little coaching and advice, drivers of all skill levels can have a memorable day behind the wheel."

Waldorf Astoria Driving Experiences was launched in August last year at six Waldorf Astoria properties in the United States.

Following its success, the programme has been doubled and is now bookable for guests across North America, Europe, and the United Arab Emirates at 12 of the brand's 26 hotels and resorts.

The package includes access to new Ferrari, McLaren, Lamborghini, and Porsche models, tips from experienced racing professionals, and the opportunity to drive along pre-determined routes giving guests a full day on the road.

The cost of the experience is US $999 per couple (excluding accommodation).

Couples can choose to book a variety of experience packages. These are ‘Drive & Stay’, which includes one night’s accommodation, “Drive & Drive”, which offers a dual experience of supercars and golf, and “Drive & Dine”, which includes dinner at a signature restaurant in the property.
