Record numbers predicted for hotel investment conference

Organisers have predicted that the fourth annual Arabian Hotel Investment Conference will smash previous attendance records.

Organisers have predicted that the fourth annual Arabian Hotel Investment Conference will smash previous attendance records.

More than 1000 delegates are expected to attend next year's conference, to be held in Dubai from 3 to 5 May 2008. This would mean an increase of more than 100 per cent since the conference launched in 2003.

Organiser Jonathan Worsley said the conference was continuing to attract significant interest, both within the Middle Eastern region and from overseas.

He explained that the primary objectives for AHIC had always been to raise awareness of the region's tourism industry.

"From the outset, we were looking...to create a forum for the discussion and establishment of best practice and to encourage high level networking opportunities," Worsley said.

"Above all, we wanted to facilitate a conference that became the leading hotel investment conference in the Middle East; that attracted key decision makers from the region and beyond," he added.

The AHIC attracts people from all sectors of the hotel industry, from investors and financiers to architects and design specialists.

The 2008 the conference agenda will cover topics such as new destinations, the environment and sustainability, staffing and fractional ownership.
