Regent Dubai to open in 2010

Rezidor SAS has announced the launch of its first Regent Hotel in the UAE; the Regent Dubai Canal Point.

Due to open in 2010, the five-star property between The Palm Jumeirah and Jebel Ali Free Zone, will comprise 250 rooms, 255 serviced apartments and 105 residential apartments, and will tower 460 metres into Dubai’s skyline.

The hotel will offer a wide-range of bar and restaurant facilities, including a top-floor sky restaurant, a spa and wellness area, conference facilities including 20 meeting rooms and two ballrooms, a lecture theatre and a library.

“We are positive the Regent Hotel brand will be very well received in the region by the upscale business and leisure traveller,” said Kurt Ritter, president & CEO, Rezidor SAS Hospitality.

The hotel will be part of a new multi-purpose development featuring three office towers, two major residential towers and community services areas, including a medical centre and a Thai-inspired wellness centre.

“Opening a showcase property in Dubai is part of a long-term strategy to further enhance and develop the Regent brand,” said Ritter.

Rezidor SAS plans to open nine additional Regent Hotels across North America, Europe and Asia, over the next two years. They will be built at sought-after locations such as Beijing, Boston and Dubrovnik.
