Intel hosted its channel forum for resellers earlier this week in Dubai. The event was geared towards putting across information to resellers and helping them get to grips with new products in face of the fast moving market.Run as part of Intel Product Integrator and Premier Provider programmes, it attracted resellers from all over the Emirates and further a field. They came to hear about the latest products from Intel and be updated on the product roadmap and how best to integrate and sell them. “The aim is to empower our vendors, assemblers and resellers to provide their customers with the very best quality and service,” said Ferruh Gurtas, Intel’s channel programme manager. “It will enable them to address the specific needs of their clients by delivering custom-designed solutions that meet their IT requirements and budgets.”There were a range of topics covered which included training on how to guide customers on purchasing decisions and how to help customers develop their business with Intel-based servers since Intel has introduced a range of server products over recent months and has more planned. The server focus is on the Xeon processor family as local assemblers develop more ambitious projects. There was also a session on mobile computing and how best to capitalise on the advances in that field. The transition to Gigabit Ethernet on desktops was also promoted as a move resellers should be putting to their customers.“Intel is determined to ensure that Intel-based products delivered to customers have been integrated perfectly in accordance with our written recommendations. Customers can thus have the assurance that the equipment they buy contains genuine Intel components and that the assembler has the expertise to install them correctly, and also that the after sales service is exemplary,” said Gurtas.
