Popular eatery and global brand wagamama has announced plans to open its first restaurant in Abu Dhabi.
The restaurant at Abu Dhabi Mall will be launched on October 31, bringing the number of locations across the UAE to eight.
The retailer said the opening marks a new chapter in the wider expansion plans for the restaurant brand across the UAE and a growing presence in neighbouring GCC countries.
The first wagamama restaurant in the UAE opened at Crowne Plaza on Sheikh Zayed Road in 2004 while 2018 saw the arrival of the largest venue to date within the Dubai Mall, and the brand’s first restaurant in Sharjah.
wagamama said it has also recently opened a newest branch in Dubai’s Marina Mall alongside a successful introduction of its breakfast menu for the first time in the Middle East.
It added that it will soon be debuting its plant-based vegan menu at the new Abu Dhabi restaurant.
Elias Madbak, director of operations at RMAL Hospitality, franchise partner for the brand in the UAE, said: “The arrival of wagamama at Abu Dhabi mall is an important milestone for the brand as we continue to deliver food that’s good for the soul, in a warm and friendly atmosphere."
wagamama is a Japanese-inspired pan-asian restaurant which launched globally in London in 1992 and now operates in 26 countries. For all the latest retail news from the UAE and Gulf countries, follow us on Twitter and Linkedin, like us on Facebook and subscribe to our YouTube page, which is updated daily.
