Global tyre giant Michelin has opened a regional headquarters for its Africa, India and the Middle East operations at Dubai Airport Freezone Authority.
The official opening ceremony took place in the presence of Dr Mohammed Al Zarooni, director general of DAFZA, Marc Pasquet, president for Michelin, Africa, India and the Middle East and Raja Rabia, Consul General of France.
The new facility will be managing 87 offices across the regions, in which it will allow the leading international tyre company to further develop and expand its regional operations, a statement said.
Al Zarooni said: “DAFZA remains committed to boosting the growth of key sectors that continuously drive Dubai's economy and diversification efforts. With DAFZA’s strategic location, wide range of services, and unique offering, we are keen to continue to be at the forefront of attracting multi-national companies and foreign businesses such as Michelin into Dubai, supporting them to help achieve growth and success.”
Pasquet added: “We are looking forward to launching our operations within DAFZA, a free zone that will provide the ideal services for our business... We are confident that this move will support us in expanding and boosting our business by strengthening our presence in the region.”
Headquartered in Clermont, France, Michelin has established itself as an international tyre company with bases in over 170 countries, and has been operating in the Middle East for more than 70 years.
