Coronavirus: Eight pharmacies closed in Sharjah for raising prices of masks, sanitisers, gloves

Complaints were received over increased prices of face masks, sanitisers and gloves.

Eight pharmacies in Sharjah have been closed down for hiking up prices of essential coronavirus protection equipment, while four have been given violation notices and nine handed warnings.

The action was taken by Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) after complaints were received over increased prices of face masks, sanitisers and gloves.

The SEDD carried out inspections of 28 pharmacies in the emirate

The SEDD has called on the public to inform the department about any violation, through the call centre, 80080000, or its social media channel, Sharjaheconomic, or by visiting the Sharjah consumer protection website.

SEDD carries out regular inspection campaigns and visits to the emirate's markets, sales outlets, societies and pharmacies.
