Abu Dhabi retail employees to be screened for Covid-19 before resuming work

Malls must install thermal cameras for customers and employees as part of Covid-19 safety measures

Abu Dhabi retail employees to be screened for Covid-19 before resuming work

The same procedures are to be applied to store employees before they start their daily shifts.

The Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) has ordered that owners and managers of commercial centres and shopping malls in Abu Dhabi screen all in-store employees for Covid-19 to be allowed to re-open their businesses in the emirates.

According to ADDED, malls must install thermal cameras at public entrances, with any individuals found with fever or high body temperatures prevented from entering.

The same procedures are to be applied to store employees before they start their daily shifts.

In a circular, ADDED said that compliance with these conditions is required to obtain approval to re-open facilities.

ADDED will also coordinate with Abu Dhabi’s Department of Health to test shopping mall employees at designated examination centres or to identify times and locations where tests can be carried out inside facilities that wish to re-open to the public.
