This little two-seater has a lot of passion to offer
We will admit that the Jaguar F-type S Convertible is not a jaw-dropper at first. It does not have a cutting-edge design and it is nowhere near as fast as some of its competitors. But make no mistake, the F-type has a whole lot to offer its driver.
And we are not talking about impressive technical features –– though it does not lack in them – we are talking about what sports cars are initially about: passion and driver involvement.
Let us put it this way: we felt that we were one with the car. Whether that has to do with the intimate driver-friendly cabin or 375Nm/tonne impressive torque-to-weight ratio, we have no idea. But put simply, this is one effortless and fun car to drive.
Boasting an 8 speed automatic transmission and a top speed of 275 km/h, it is fast and powerful. But the most impressive part for us was the efficiency of its braking system, the Jaguar High Performance.
Without going into much detail, it is fair to say its brakes are better than several of the high-end sports cars we have tried. They are quick to react and made us feel safe. And you do not get to feel that often in a sports car.
Another thing we fell in love with was the Jaguar’s all-black interior. One of the car’s cool features is the way its AC vents open upwards to symbolise that the car has ‘awoken.’
One final note for all driver: Beware when you drive the Jaguar F-type S Convertible – you might experience extreme driving pleasure.
