Review: Gaucho Business Lunch

We would choose this wallet-friendly, fulfilling meal at the Argentinian venue any day

Review: Gaucho Business Lunch

The good thing about Argentinian restaurant Gaucho’s business lunch is it comes in two different menus – a healthy option called “Feel Good” and a less-healthy (but extra delicious) option called “Feel Great.” The best thing about Gaucho’s business lunch? You can mix and match both which is exactly what we did.

We started our meal with a selection of complimentary in-house baked bread. What is the best thing since sliced bread? Argentinian “chipas” bread which is basically small balls of cheese bread which explode with even more cheese when you bite into them. It was a good start to our lunch.

For starters, we tried the corn cakes with chipotle chutney and salmon ceviche with roasted pepper and mango. While the cakes were fulfilling and tasty, the slightly yet pleasantly sour salmon ceviche won our hearts.

Considering the restaurant was crowded on Wednesday during lunch time, we were served our food pretty quickly as our flash grilled spicy rump with courgette ribbons arrived at just the right temperature minutes after our starters. The tender steak was perfectly cooked to medium-well as requested. It was rich in taste but the spices used did not overcome the meat itself, which we is often the case in many a steakhouses.

Next, we did not hold back on the desserts. We ordered the Dulce De Leche profiteroles with chocolate sauce (for those of us who are not French, those are “cream puffs”) and the summer berry crepe. Both were not too sweet and light on the tummy, leaving you feeling just right for your next task at the office.

Of the many restaurants we tried in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), we found Gaucho to be top notch in terms of its business lunch. The service is quick and the atmosphere is energetic but not too loud. We also love the venue’s décor designed in black and white cattle prints and modern metal chandeliers.

The staff at Gaucho add a down-to-earth vibe to the high-end restaurant with a laid-back and friendly attitude which is sure to keep customers coming back for more.

Gaucho’s business lunch is AED 120 for two courses and AED150 for three courses
