Rezidor SAS has won management contracts for two new properties in Dubai Marina, which are currently being constructed by Kuwaiti real estate firm, Abyaar.
The two tower projects, Pier 24 and Pier 8, will become Radisson SAS-branded luxury serviced apartments, featuring 153 and 234 rooms respectively when they are completed by June 2008.
Units will range from studios to two-bedroom apartments.
The 40-storey Pier 8 will also feature three townhouses and two penthouses.
“It depends on seasonality, but from the GCC [the main targets will be] Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and to a degree, Bahrain,” said Jean-Marco Busato, vice president, Rezidor SAS.
“We’re not only targeting the GCC, but this is an important product for these markets.”
As a result, both properties will offer separate swimming pools for men and women out of respect for local customs.
Busato said the projects, which will also boast restaurants and leisure facilities, such as a gym and wellness centre, would also appeal to holidaymakers that preferred residential accommodation rather than hotels.
Worth US $150, Pier 24 and Pier 8 are part of Abyaar’s $1.4 billion UAE investment plan.
