Rodana showcases BenQ projector line-up

Home theatre and audio-visual specialist Rodana Digital has become one of the largest projector distributors in Saudi Arabia since its 2003 launch. The company has headed to Riyadh this year to shine a light on Taiwanese vendor BenQ’s wide range of presentation and home cinema kit.

With branches in Riyadh, Khobar and Jeddah, Rodana Digital distributes the full spectrum of home theatre and AV products as well as associated accessories; everything from DLP technology products such as BenQ’s and LCD TVs (including wireless models), right through to other types of LCD display, MP3 players and printers.

As a major distributor for BenQ in the Kingdom, Rodana regards GITEX Saudi Arabia as a crucial launching pad for its latest kit.

“The main reason we attend is because we have lots of great new BenQ products and the best time to launch these in the Kingdom is at GITEX time,” explained Engineer Rayman, Rodana’s general manager.

“It’s a particularly good launch venue for us this year because as well as promoting the BenQ brand, we’re keen on targeting corporate organisations and particularly the government sector,” Rayman added. “It’s the perfect time to hit these potential customers, because they travel to GITEX to find out what’s new in the market.”

Last year Rodana reported growth of 100% and it is aiming for similar success over the course of 2007. “LCD TVs are a great growth area,” Rayman reported, “and these have grown about 60% worldwide, so probably we’ll see between 60% and 100% market growth this year. In Saudi Arabia this year the budget is very healthy too - because government departments have had a big budget increase - so companies that have good brands should see this level of growth.”

Rayman claims he and his team are working on a significant number of public sector tenders right now as government departments plan how to spend their improved budgets on modernising their IT infrastructures.

“Lots more of these tenders will be released over time too, because of these budgets,” Rayman explained. “The government’s mission to modernise the education segment is very much a key driver.”
