Royal Jordanian upgrades Amman and Aqaba route

Royal Jordanian continued its service enhancements within the Middle East last month by increasing capacity on domestic flights between Amman and Aqaba.

Royal Jordanian continued its service enhancements within the Middle East last month by increasing capacity on domestic flights between Amman and Aqaba.

The airline is marketing its service upgrade to freight forwarders throughout the region, with a maximum 2 tonnes of cargo currently being offered on each journey between the two Jordanian cities.

"Royal Jordanian is the only airline operating scheduled flights to Aqaba," commented Ingo Roessler, vice president of cargo at Royal Jordanian. "We operate two daily flights between Amman and Aqaba, which means the freight forwarding community can benefit from 4 tonnes of cargo capacity in each direction."

The airline operates an Embraer 195 passenger aircraft on the route, which departs from Amman at 0730 and 1700 every day.

"Customers in the rapidly developing Aqaba Special Economic Zone will be benefiting from this improved service to King Hussein International Airport, especially in terms of providing same day connections for the transportation of their cargo to and from Aqaba," added Roessler.
