Siemens information & communication mobile network group has signed an Euro 8 million deal with Yemen’s SabaFon to extend its GSM network.

Siemens information & communication mobile network (ICM N) group has signed an Euro 8 million deal with Yemen’s SabaFon to extend its GSM network. The agreement further extends Siemens relationship with the telco, which has already seen it deploy a full turnkey GSM network for SabaFon.

“We are happy to sustain SabaFon success in such a dynamic and competitive market as Yemen,” says Dr. Abdullah Tourbah, vice president for sales & head of Siemens ICM networks Middle East.

“Our joint vision on the GSM network growth in Yemen stems from a common understanding of the Middle East market and capitalises on Siemens worldwide experience in deploying and supporting GSM operations. We… believe in business partnerships and most of all consider SabaFon to be a fundamental pillar of our success in the Middle East,” he adds.
