SABIC, Rajhi lead Saudi index higher

Saudi benchmark TASI closes 0.7 percent higher to 6802 points.

Heavyweights Saudi Basic Industries (SABIC)and Al Rajhi Bank led Saudi stocks to a higher close on Saturday.

The index TASI closed 0.7 percent higher to 6802 points.

SABIC gained 1.3 percent to 99.25 riyals and Al Rajhi Bank gained 3 percent to 84.75 riyals.

Saudi-based retailer Fawaz Abdulaziz Alhokair Co inched up 0.3 percent to 40.2 riyals after it announced that it has entered preliminary agreements to buy stakes in three retail firms, part of its plans to expand in the region.  (Reuters)
