New Qatar to Afghanistan route will launch on Mar 13 as part of expansion plan.
Safi Airways, the international airline from Afghanistan, is to launch a new route between Doha and Kabul from March 13.
The Doha-Kabul service will be operated with the support of Qatar Airways and will initially fly three times a week.
Thomas J Bommer, director, sales & marketing, Safi Airways said the new route would serve the estimated 7,000 Afghan citizens who are currently residing in Qatar.
The launch of the new route would also help accentuate the reconstruction of Afghanistan, he said in comments published by The Peninsula on Thursday.
“We know that there is great need for improvement to seamless travel to Afghanistan. The new route and the cooperation with Qatar Airways will enable such convenient travel,” Bommer said.
Safi Airways said its vision was to make Afghanistan more reachable from all parts of the world and Doha is Safi’s third destination in the Gulf after Dubai and Kuwait.
The airline added that it would soon operate its services to new destinations in India and China.
The New Delhi service is scheduled to be launched on March 13 with a Beijing service launched soon after.
