Majdi Food Center is implementing a data management system from ERP software solutions vendor Sage.

The Kuwaiti food company, which processes and packages food items, said it decided to implement the system to help it make better use of its resources, particularly control of manufacturing and planning, as it prepares for expansion across the GCC.

"The previous system could not meet the expectations of a fast growing organisation," Hani Abdou, managing director of Majdi Food Center told

.

"The process of consolidating information took a long time, thus hampering strategic decision-making. We needed to connect the headquarters with different divisions and subsidiaries, and to connect our partners and vendors," he said.

Majdi, which is a leading distributor of spices and dried food, is due to start the implementation in April or May this year, with the assistance of Sage's local integration partner Bader Al Mulla Infotech Solutions.

"Majdi Food Center needed an internationally standardised solution that provided greater control of manufacturing, supply chain and operations through transparency, visibility and effective cost tracking," commented Ausaf Usmani, Bader Al Mulla Infotech Solutions manager.
