Lufthansa Technik wins contract to maintain, repair, overhaul Saudi carrier's Boeing aircraft until 2016.

Sama Airlines has signed a deal allowing Lufthansa Technik to carry out aircraft maintenance on the Saudi carrier’s fleet.

Lufthansa will provide maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services until 2016 for Sama’s fleet of six Boeing 737-300s.

The MRO company will also supply cabin aircraft materials, engineering services and site management support at Sama’s maintenance hub in Dammam.

Bruce Ashby, CEO of Sama, said: “Sama chose Lufthansa Technik for their experience in the region and their high standards of quality on technical services for commercial aircraft around the world. We trust this agreement will support our operation's reliability and efficiency.”

Saudi-based Sama operates more than 200 weekly flights to 21 domestic and international destinations.
