Samsung claims smallest flatbed laser MFP

Samsung, the world’s second largest laser engine manufacturer, has launched what it claims is the world’s smallest laser-based flatbed multifunction printer (MFP) in the form of the new SCX-4200.

Samsung, the world’s second largest laser engine manufacturer, has launched what it claims is the world’s smallest laser-based flatbed multifunction printer (MFP) in the form of the new SCX-4200.

Designed to be the ultimate affordable and compact productivity tool for small and home office multitaskers, the SCX-4200 is a three-in-one printer, scanner and copier machine.

It features Samsung’s toner save function, which the firm claims can help businesses cut their toner usage - and therefore toner costs – by up to 40%, at the push of a button.

“Samsung’s commitment to delivering industry-leading printing solutions to individual and small business users is realized in the SCX-4200,” commented Lancy Menezes, the sales and marketing manager of Samsung Gulf’s digital printing division, at the machine’s launch. “By creating the smallest laser-based MFP in its class, Samsung is poised to make even more headway into the SOHO and SMB markets.”

Samsung quotes 19ppm print and copy speeds for the 4200, in addition to a quick warm-up time of under 30 seconds. Buyers should expect to pay approximately US $177.
