South Korean consumer electronics giant Samsung has recorded its single biggest month in terms of flat panel TV sales in the US, selling more than US$300 million worth of LCD and plasma TVs in August.
Total sales touched US$373 million, reflecting increased US consumer demand for flat panel high definition television receivers.
Samsung has massively increased its share of the lucrative US flat panel TV market over the past 12 months.
In October last year, the company reported flat panel TV sales of US$200 million, while in the 12 months to December 2002, it recorded just $320 million in TV sales revenue.
