Sapin, a Dubai-based packaging producer, is planning to construct a new 3,500 sq m production facility in Dubai's Techno Park, in a bid to expand its Middle East operations.

The new facility, which is expected to be operational by the beginning of 2008, will be capable of producing 100 million cans a year and will supply cans for companies including Nestlé, Reckitt Benckiser, Best Food, Oman Insecticide and Oman Chemicals. The factory will be adjacent to Nestlé Middle East's manufacturing facility in Dubai's Techno Park.

Speaking at a signing ceremony between the two companies, Khalid M. Al Suhaimi, chairman of Sapin, said: "Based on our strategic plans for the region, the UAE facility reflects Sapin's commitment to become the premier provider of quality packaging solutions in the GCC."
