Prosecutor had called for self-styled 'King of Nazeem' to be executed - report
A Saudi Arabian man has been sentenced to ten years in prison and 1,000 lashes following a serios of car drifting offenses.
The unnamed 23-year old, known only as the ‘King of Nazeem Neighbourhood’, was said to have appeared in numerous YouTube clips drifting his car into oncoming traffic in Riyadh, Saudi Gazette reported.
In one such clip, the man and two friends were said to be seen firing machine guns into the air while driving around in broad daylight.
The fun ended however when one of his compatriots was killed during one such incident, the paper said. He was arrested by police in the capital in November 2012.
A court in Riyadh also handed down a lifetime driving ban, although the city’s prosecutor general had called for him to be executed.
The three-judge panel did not uphold that request, the newspaper added.
